A lime green eyezone turns into a purply blue pattern spreading out onto peach, curved flower petals. From our tall breeding program comes the next generation at 4.5 feet tall. ‘Sweetgrass’ inherits the characteristics of disease resistance, nocturnal opening and cold zone hardiness from ‘KC On A Hill’. The addition of colour is helped along by the pod parent ‘Eyepad’. You can make seed on this one, it is fertile both ways, it allows its babies to be different colours. Being nocturnal, its flowers open up in the evening, creating a long bloom time. Cold morning opener, early morning opener.
I have been using this one steady for several years as a breeding plant. ‘Sweetgrass’ grows and multiplies but isn’t obnoxious. Plant this clump forming daylily and leave if for years.
